Rick, as tax manager, joined his family accounting firm in 1972 after attending Drake University and Iowa State. He became a enrolled agent (EA) in 1975 and has worked extensively in the taxpayer representation field since. He has served as president of the Accountants Association of Iowa 1992-93, local Jaycees 1981-82 and local Kiwanis 1991-92. Rick has been National Society of Accountants Iowa State Director and member of the NSA Federal Tax Committee. In 1996 Rick was appointed to the Internal Revenue Service Advisory Committee and in 2001 received an appointment to the IRS Electronic Tax Administration Advisory Committee. He currently serves as advisor to the federal tax policy board of the National Council on Taxpayer Advocacy and on the subject matter expert panel for the Accreditation Council for Accountancy and Taxation.
